Welcome to Soroptimist International of Mandurah

Soroptimist International of Mandurah, is a service club of women who meet on a regular basis to support our projects to transform the lives of women and girls. For more information on our projects or Soroptimist International please visit our web or Facebook pages using the links below.

We welcome potential new members to our monthly Club/Social Meetings, which from July 2026 are being held at Sunbreakers Restaurant, 110 Mandurah Terrace, Mandurah, unless otherwise advised.  We frequently invite guest speakers to address our Club on a variety of different topics.  We also review activities from the past month during the business section of our meetings, as well as enjoying dinner and a drink or two with like-minded people.

Please email us to let us know that you're coming so we can be ready to welcome you.

There is no fee to attend other than the cost of your dinner and a drink if you wish to participate.  Both available at very competitive prices.

2026 Soroptimist International of Mandurah Literary Lunch
The Sebel Mandurah
11:30 – 15:00
This year, we have decided to try something different and will be joined by two local authors who write in quite distinct genres and appeal to differing age groups.    Sarah Foster lives in Perth, Western Australia, with her husband, two daughters, two cats called Ruby and Cocoa, a bearded dragon called Sunny and Luna the cavoodle.    Her latest novel, When She Was Gone, was released by Blackstone (US/Can) and HarperCollins (ANZ) in 2025, and is available in bookstores now.  Her debut suspense Come Back to Me has also been recently released in the US and is available for the first time worldwide on audio thanks to Blackstone and Bolinda.   She's passionate about writing strong, complex female characters, and she often incorporate contemporary cultural themes into her stories. Sara graduated from Curtin University in 2023 with a Vice Chancellor’s Commendation for her PhD work on maternal relationships in dystopian fiction with young adult heroines. Three of her novels have been optioned for television, and You Don’t Know Me was turned into a chart-topping podcast drama by LiSTNR.   AJ Betts is an award-winning author of six young-adult novels with humour and heart. Her books include One Song, the dystopian duology Hive and Rogue (which is widely studied in schools as a dystopian text), and Zac & Mia, (whose television adaptation won two Emmys in 2018.)    She is a highly sought-after speaker and workshop facilitator who loves talking about books, writing and creativity.  She regularly presents to schools, libraries and festivals (online and in person) and has presented in international schools in Brunei, Hong Kong, China and Singapore. She is also a registered English teacher, and holds a doctorate on the topic of Wonder.  More information on her most popular talks can be found on her website:  https://www.ajbetts.com/, or you can email her directly at:  amandajbetts@gmail.com. She has a WWCC and public liability insurance.   This event will commence at 11:30 am with registration commencing at 11:00 am.   There will be all the usual raffles and a produce table, as in previous similar events.      Cost:  $70 (including a two-course sit-down lunch, tea/coffee, juice, and a drinks voucher to enable you to enjoy a drink on arrival.   Dress:  Smart Casual   Click on Get Tickets to reserve your seat.   If you are experiencing difficulty in booking, or need more information, don't hesitate to get in touch with Liz Hobbs at 9carrow@gmail.com or 0438 731 659 (m).   We look forward to seeing you on the day.
